Nomenclature: A “Bunk Bed” is a two-level bed where more than one person (adult or child) can sleep in the floor space normally used for just one person.

Nomenclature: A “Loft Bed” is a one-level bed where generally only one person (adult or child) can sleep in the floor space below can be used for play activities, relaxation (toss in a bean bag chair) or a study center. These are HUGELY popular with students.
Available options include book shelves, desks and lighting for either. Generally, raises the students GPA by at least one full point.
Originally, we made just one grade of bunk and loft bed – family grade. They were sturdier than most anything on the market, but to be honest, they were for kids. Then in 2010 we received a request to bid on 34 Full-over-Full bunk beds for a fraternity house at the University of Southern California. Our design team got busy and developed a bunk bed that would stand up to frat-house use. We came up with what is now called our Commercial Grade bunk beds. We can’t divulge all of our “secret 11 herbs and spices” but I’ll tell you just one: every factory joint in every bed we build is glued and well as screwed. Needless to say, we won the contract. Moreover, that fraternity has been back twice for additional orders.

We have commercial customers from B&B’s in Maine to Inns Catalina Island in California and from Lake Chelan in the state of Washington to a National park in Key West, Florida.
Custom bunk or Loft beds are a category that includes beds that won’t fit in a given space, or one which is just “different”. The one pictured above was developed for an executive of the Atlanta Braves. They wanted a bunk bed that would fit into a special space in a loft area above the garage in their lake home. We built one which nestled into the “too narrow” space by combining the head and foot boards of the adjacent beds.
